Who We Are

DSC 0004

I am Manda Gatto, MSW, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and the Chief Executive Officer of New Bloom Counseling, LLC. I have over 20 years of professional experience in the field of mental health, most recently as an inpatient and outpatienttherapist, a clinical supervisorand a graduate social work professor. One of my goals in this practice is to create an environment where people are comfortable to share their challenges, concerns, triumphs, feelings and dreams. I believe therapy should be a two way conversation, a collaborative effortwith common goals - yours!

Many people come to therapy for help coping with or managing thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Others want to work on improving relationships or understanding patterns. Some seek treatment of a mental health problem, to discover new solutions and perspectives to gain relief or insight. For others, it can be an opportunity to talk things over with an objective person or to get information, skills or access to resources. Everyone has different needs based on their strengths, capacities and challenges, so first and foremost, therapy has to work for you for it to work.

I use an eclectic approach, which is influenced by systems, psychodynamic, humanistic, interpersonal and social justice perspectives. I am trained in the use of EMDR to provide treatment that addresses the emotional consequences of trauma and have received specific training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) at the Beck Institute. In addition, I also use elements of insight oriented therapy, mindfulness andMotivational Interviewing.
